Yahoo News Harlan Coben, ‘Fool Me Once’ Showrunner Reteam for Amazon Drama
The team behind Netflix’s hit Fool Me Once is reuniting for a new series — at a different streamer.
Amazon’s Prime Video has ordered Lazarus, a limited series from Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst. The drama will star Sam Claflin (Daisy Jones & the Six) as a forensic psychologist who returns home after his father’s suicide and becomes entangled in a set of cold case murders. Bill Nighy, playing the lead character’s late father, and Alexandra Roach, as Claflin’s sister, also star.

Lazarus is based on an original idea from best-selling author Coben and Brocklehurst, who are writing the series together. The limited series will be Coben’s second at Prime Video, which ran (and then canceled) Shelter last year.

Said Coben, “Do I have to say more than the names Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy, and Alexandra Roach to express my excitement about this limited series? Lazarus is a story of loss, redemption — and the eternal bond between a parent and a child, even after death. It is never anything less than a thrill to team up again with Danny Brocklehurst and Quay Street Productions.”
In addition to Fool Me Once — which has become one of Netflix’s top 10 English-language series of all time since its Jan. 1 premiere — Coben and Brocklehurst previously worked together on Stay Close and The Stranger at Netflix. They’ll executive produce Lazarus with Claflin; Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee of Quay Street Productions; and Wayne Che Yip, who’s also directing the first two episodes. Matt Stevens is a producer.
Quay Street Productions and Amazon MGM Studios are producing Lazarus with Coben’s Final Twist Productions.
