Harry Amass could make his Manchester United debut tonight after being included in the matchday squad for the game against Sheffield United.

United have been hit harder than most when it comes to injuries this season. That has particularly impacted them at left-back, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia still on the treatment table at Carrington.

Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon was sent back in the January transfer window and later signed another loan deal with Brentford, leaving United short in that position. Amass is a promising left-back from the academy and is set to take his seat in the dugout this evening.

The next academy player to debut for the first team will be the 250th graduate. Here, we take a closer look at his career so far and share what we know about the United youngster.

Name: Harry Amass

Age: 17

Nationality: English (Capped at U17s level)

Position: Left-back

Squad number: 70

Contracted until: June 2027

Amass has earned rave reviews for his performances in the academy system. However, the promising youngster has not been at Old Trafford long, signing for United from Watford last summer.

With five England U17 caps to his name, Amass also captained the Under-16s age group in a friendly with Norway, underlining his leadership credentials. He was called into first-team training in February - before he even turned 17 - to provide injury cover and reach another huge milestone in his development.

It's an unusual step for United to call upon a player so young. It's understood that U21s manager Travis Binnion advises first-team coaches on which youngsters, such as Amass, they should take a look at when requested.
