Prince Harry is reportedly being nudged by his father, King Charles, to make a decisive move in order to mend the rift with his brother Prince William, which could also "neatly get around the problem of Meghan Markle".

A royal expert has hinted that the princes might be close to resolving their tense relationship due to the "pressure" from their dad, King Charles III.

Royal commentator and writer Tom Quinn has disclosed that the Duke of Sussex is being encouraged by the monarch to establish a residence in the UK.

This would allow Charles to have more meaningful interactions with his grandchildren, Archie and Lillibet, potentially setting the stage for a reconciliation between Harry and William on home turf.

Yet, Mr Quinn is sceptical about Meghan joining her spouse, considering her previous unpleasant encounters with the Royal Family.

In an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Mr Quinn remarked: "King Charles has been putting pressure on Harry to do just this as he is angry that his only relationship with his grandchildren so far is via video calls, which Charles hates.

"William and Kate's children would spend the weekend at Highgrove and Harry's children could then easily pop over from their house nearby.

"This would neatly get round the problem of Meghan she just wouldn't need to be there and the children could be whisked back to the States after a week or two."

Despite Quinn's speculations, Harry is currently based in the US and has previously spoken about the possibility of becoming an American citizen. During an appearance on Good Morning America, the Duke of Sussex was asked whether he had thought about applying for citizenship in the States.

In a separate interview with William Reeve, Prince Harry was asked: "Do you feel American? " To which he honestly replied: "Do I feel American? No... I don't know how I feel."

Speaking on the topic of potentially applying for American citizenship, Harry said: "I have no idea. I'm here standing next to these guys. The American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind, but certainly not something that is a priority for me right now."

Meanwhile, it seems Meghan is relishing her Californian lifestyle, with author Omid Scobie suggesting she may never return to Britain. In his bombshell book 'Endgame', Scobie writes that Meghan "never felt at home" in the UK and is determined not to "set foot again in England."

Scobie alleges that Meghan's absence from King Charles' Coronation last May and Harry's Invictus Games event earlier this year is due to her reluctance to "dive back into the soap opera of the court."
