Harry Potter alumni Bonnie Wright has announced the exciting news that she is expecting her first child.

The actress, who played Ginny Weasley across the film series, announced that she and her husband Andrew Lococo are due to become parents, a year after they tied the knot.

Posting photos of the duo in an embrace outdoors, Wright wrote: "We’re having a baby! So excited to share this beautiful land with them. What a wild and humbling journey pregnancy is, transforming to make space for new life.

"Andrew and I can’t wait to meet our baby later this year and become parents. It feels like they’re coming to say hello in the little rainbow orb across my belly."

Interestingly, Wright made her announcement the same week that Daniel Radcliffe, her former on-screen love interest and the film's franchise lead, revealed that he and his partner Erin Darke had welcomed their first child into the world.

Two years ago, Rupert Grint became a dad for the first time, and Radcliffe spoke about how he found it a bit odd that he and his co-stars were now starting to become parents.

"I texted him the other day and said I was so happy for him and it's very very cool," he said at the time.

"It's also like super weird, for me, to think that we are all at the age where we are all having children, but we definitely are."

Since the release of the last Potter film almost 12 years ago, Wright has starred in a few independent films and moved behind the camera, directing short films and music videos. She's also become an environmental activist, writing a book on how to be more environmentally friendly.
