Harry Styles has revealed James Corden has told him all about the upcoming Gavin and Stacey Christmas special, and he reckons it’s going to go down a treat with fans of the hit comedy series.

During an interview on the KISS Breakfast show on Friday 6 December, the former One Direction star told presenters Tom Green and Daisy Maskell: “I heard a little bit about it, I think it’s going to be great.”

But when the duo pushed him for more details, the 25-year-old - whose latest single ‘Adore You’ is released today - said he’d “been sworn to secrecy” by Corden, who co-created the show with Ruth Jones.

Just yesterday, the full plot of the eagerly anticipated reunion episode was released. It reads: “This year, we’re off to Wales for the festivities, where Bryn (Rob Brydon) is cooking dinner for over thirteen people. Understandably, he’s tense.”

It goes on to state how the mother of titular character Gavin (Mathew Horne), Pam (Alison Steadman), doesn’t do a very good job at hiding the fact that she’d rather be in Essex for Christmas because she finds Gwen’s (Melanie Walters) hosting skills a little lacklustre.

Elsewhere, Gavin and Stacey (Joanna Page) are adjusting to life with a feisty ten-year-old while Smithy (Corden) and Nessa (Jones) continue to raise not-so-baby Neil the Baby.

It continues: “On Christmas Eve, Dawn (Julia Davis) makes a shocking discovery about Pete (Adrian Scarborough) that jeopardises their marriage and a visit to the pub that night is an eye opener in more ways than one.”

Styles and Corden, 41, have been friends for many years, what with the ‘Sign of the Times’ singer appearing on the latter’s Late Late Show numerous times.

He’s so well-versed in the goings-on of the US series, in fact, that Corden has invited him - along with other famous faces such as Melissa McCarthy, Alicia Keys, and Chance the Rapper - to act as guest host while he kicks off production on Ryan Murphy musical The Prom.
