A new health and wellness club is set to open in late 2024, it has been revealed.

Construction is underway at the David Lloyd club, on Marham Park in Bury St Edmunds, after plans were given the go-ahead in July last year.

The new centre in the west Suffolk town will create 75 new jobs.

A spokesman for the firm said it is hoped to open by winter 2024.

Stuart Caswell, new club acquisitions director at David Lloyd Clubs, said: “We’re excited to see the development at David Lloyd Bury St Edmunds progress at such a great rate.

"While the opening of the new club isn’t due until this winter, we’ve already seen a lot of enquiries from those interested in joining which is fantastic news.

“Offering a wide variety of premium health and wellness facilities, our new club has something for people of all ages, and we look forward to welcoming the local community in 2024.”

Among the new facilities are a 100-plus station gym, heated swimming pools, padel courts and a range of exercise classes.
