'Do You Hear The People Sing?' - Crowd Performs Les Mis Song at Hong Kong Airport Protest

Protesters sang during a sit-in held at Hong Kong International Airport on August 9 as part of ongoing protests against the government.

This footage shows the protests perform Do You Hear The People Sing from the musical Les Misérables.

Local media said that more than 1,000 people took part in the protest.

The sit-in marks the start of a weekend of planned demonstrations at the airport, the South China Morning Post reported.

Anti-government protests that began in opposition to a now-shelved extradition bill have continued in Hong Kong for several weeks, in the face of criticism from both local authorities and Beijing. Credit: Freedom HK via Storyful
