Shoppers at a new store in County Durham have made their first purchases.

The Range in Bishop Auckland opened its doors to customers looking for home, leisure and garden products on Friday morning.

The first 50 people in line received a goody bag containing some of the brand’s most-loved products.

The store offers products that make the house feel like a home, from soft furnishings and dinnerware sets to decorative items and patio accessories.

As well as in-store browsing at this new site, local customers can make use of the free Click & Collect service by shopping online from the comfort of their own home before conveniently picking up their new purchases in-store within just 60 minutes of ordering.

Alex Simpkin, chief executive officer of CDS Superstores, trading as The Range and Wilko, said: “We’re overjoyed by the tremendous success of our new store opening today.

“The outpouring of support from the community has been truly heart-warming, and we are thrilled to have become an integral part of Bishop Auckland’s shopping scene.

“This success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, and we are excited to provide quality products to our valued customers in the area.”
