Heartbreaking Interview With Little Boy And His Father After Paris Attacks
A little boy and his father have given a tearjerking interview to French television in the wake of the Paris terror attacks.
In the heartbreaking interview, recorded for French TV show Le Petit Journal on station Canal+, the father explains Friday night’s atrocities to his son.
The pair were interviewed by a reporter at the scene of the Bataclan attacks. At least 129 people lost their lives in the series of attacks on the French capital.
The interviewer begins by asking the little boy in French if he understands why the terrorists killed innocent people.
The boy replies: “Yes, because they’re really, really mean. Bad guys are not very nice.”
He then says that his family will have to move home, only for his father to interrupt by saying: “Don’t worry, we don’t need to change homes. France is our home.”
When the boy counters by saying: “But there are bad guys, Daddy…”, his father replies: “Yes, but there are bad guys everywhere.”
The boy then says: “They have guns, they can shoot us because they’re really really mean, Daddy.”
His father replies: “It’s okay, they might have guns, but we have flowers.”
When his son protests that flowers don’t do anything, the man points to all the flowers around them and says they fight against guns.
He tells his son that the candles at the site are there so they do not forget those who died.
At the end of the interview, the reporter asks if the boy is feeling better.
He replies: “Yes, I feel better.”
