She also wrote: "He was a fierce warrior but also a Mummy's boy and didn't care who knew it. He had my name tattooed on his leg above a diamond. I asked him why he didn't just get the word 'Mum' tattooed. He said, 'Because you're Michaela. And you're my diamond. And if it said Mum, people wouldn't know who you were'."

His sister, Shannon Dayus, wrote: "My brother, my Kainy wainy woo, my king, my protector, my BFG. My life will never ever be the same without you. Please stay with me until I’m back with you, my angel in the sky. I love you, so so much."

Chantelle Williams shared a heartfelt message on behalf of her dad, Gary Williams, for Kain's family, which said: "How do I begin? Sometimes there are no words for the man who lit up a room before he entered it. The man who made you smile even though your world was falling apart. You brought laughter and joy to so many and you always put others first before yourself.

"You were the soul of a party and you made people feel they belonged but you made sure it was never about you. When you were struggling we knew but inside those voices you carried cared not, you didn’t deserve the pain you carried but you just wanted to feel what others felt on a daily basis.

"You were let down by the people who were suppose to support you and failed by so many in your times of need. Not all angels have wings but I saw yours every time we spoke or made welcoming gestures.

"Some called you a gentle giant, I called you a friend, but for all that you continued to smile regardless where you was you gave me your time and for that I gave you my friendship and my admiration. You're probably not aware of this but the way you touched so many in the way that you did you will always leave a handprint in the hearts of so many folk.

"Kainan Kernow king, thank you for sharing the time you had with us, thank you for kindness to others and most of all thanks for being a friend, a man with many words. Go rest now until we all meet again on a sunny day in Cornwall."

Gee Lepore shared: "True words about one hell of a guy. He was always out to make sure everyone else was happy, truly will miss you my friend." Kerry Stevens: "Oh Kainan, from that little boy on the left who would love to aggravate his sisters to the politest young man who absolutely adored and protected his family at all times. Your laugh was infectious, I hope you continue that where ever you will be and your mind is at rest."

In setting up a fundraiser to help those left behind, Kerry Stevens posted on the page on GoFundMe that has already raised more than £10,000 and you can find here: "The family have not requested this help but I think we can all agree that Kain would want nothing more than for us all to help his family at this tough time. He was the one that was always there to protect them, the man all his sisters/nieces/nephews looked up too.

"His contagious laugh, smile and singing voice will stay with us forever. We all hope your at peace now. We know you’ll carry on protecting your family from above.

We will all see you on the other side. This fundraiser is for Kain's family to go towards his funeral."

Crowds gathered to remember Kain and leave floral, balloon and other tributes in a touching evening on June 14 on the Penzance promenade. Michaela posted subsequently: "I want to thank all that have been a part of Kain's tribute on the promenade. It's beautiful. It has brought comfort and opened many conversations with strangers.

"I love you all and appreciate everything. We will give him the best send off."
