Heartfelt tributes pour in for beloved Oisin Gregg

Following the death of Oisin Gregg, heartfelt tributes have been pouring in online from all those who knew him.

The Belleek teenager died following a serious collision near Kesh last week and will be laid to rest this Sunday, June 16.

As a former pupil of Belleek Primary School and Devenish College, Mr. Gregg has been fondly remembered by both schools for the impacts he had on the school communities.

On social media, a spokesperson for Belleek Primary School wrote: “It is with great sadness that we learn of the untimely passing of our past pupil, Oisin Gregg.

"Oisin was a quiet-natured and caring child with a love for football. As a school community, we are heartbroken.

“Oisin's tragic death has devastated the entire community of Belleek. We hope some comfort will be brought to the Gregg family in knowing that we will all do our very best to support you all in the days, weeks, months and even years ahead.”

In addition to this, Mr. Gregg's former teacher, Elaine McMorris, shared on social media: “I have precious memories of teaching Oisin. He was the best wee boy. He was gentle, caring and a friend to everyone.”

Also on social media, his former school, Devenish College, wrote: “The Devenish College community are devastated and heartbroken to learn of the tragic passing of our former student, Oisin Gregg.

"Oisin offered so much to our college during his five years as a student.

“He was such a kind, pleasant, mannerly and hardworking young man, with a fantastic spirit and enthusiasm.

"His love of sport was so evident in soccer and athletics. He also represented our school in rugby, being a key member of the 2022 Pollock Cup winning team.”

Tributes remembered Mr. Gregg as a "committed" member of North Fermanagh Young Defenders Flute Band.

"It is with deep sadness and regret that we have lost not only a member of our band, but someone we have been lucky enough to call our friend," a tribute read.

"We can only thank him for his effort, and commitment and also for simply choosing us to share so many memorable times together.

"He will be sadly missed and always remembered by all of his North Fermanagh Young Defenders family."

Mr. Gregg is survived by his mother and father, Mary and Gareth; sister Aoife; brothers Aaron, Callum and Oscar; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, the wider family circle and his many friends.

His funeral will take place on Sunday, June 16 at 2pm in Slavin Parish Church followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.
