Yahoo News Heartstopper's Kit Connor excites fans with new project
Heartstopper's Kit Connor has been confirmed to star in a theatre adaptation of Romeo and Juliet opposite West Side Story's Rachel Zegler.
Connor and Zegler will make their Broadway debuts as Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet in an adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy this autumn.
The production will be directed by Sam Gold and feature music from Jack Antonoff and movement by Sonya Tayeh, known for her work on Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
Dates and the location for the play's run are yet to be announced. Tickets are expected to go on sale in May, with additional details to be revealed in due course.

The two actors had previously teased the project by posting matching images of a R and a J respectively and a plus sign uniting them on their Instagram profiles.
Zegler and Connor also added a heart and a dagger emoji for good measure, leaving little doubt as to which characters they'd be playing.
This upcoming version of the star-crossed romance is the second recent adaptation of the tragic love story for the stage.

Tom Holland and Bad Education's Francesca Amewudah-Rivers have been announced as the stars of a West End production of Romeo and Juliet. The play will enjoy a limited run at the Duke of York Theatre in central London from May 11 through to August 3.
The show is to be directed by Jamie Lloyd, whose recent theatre credits include National Theatre play The Effect and Sunset Boulevard starring Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger as Norma Desmond (which is now headed to Broadway).
Following the casting announcement for Lloyd's Romeo and Juliet, the producers shared a statement condemning the vile racial abuse aimed at a cast member, presumably referring to comments trolls have been posting about Amewudah-Rivers.
"Following the announcement of our Romeo & Juliet cast, there has been a barrage of deplorable racial abuse online directed towards a member of our company," the Jamie Lloyd Company wrote earlier this month.
"This must stop. We are working with a remarkable group of artists. We insist that they are free to create work without facing online harassment.
"We will continue to support and protect everyone in our company at all costs. Any abuse will not be tolerated and will be reported."
Jamie Lloyd's Romeo & Juliet, starring Tom Holland, will run at the Duke of York Theatre in central London from May 11 to August 3, 2024.
