Danny Dyer is returning to the small screen
Australian TV series Heat marks Danny Dyer's return to dramatic acting since leaving EastEnders and it's Channel 5's second collaboration with Network 10 and Fremantle Australia.
When Danny Dyer departed Albert Square at Christmas last year he left a hole in the British TV landscape, but the actor will be returning to the small screen in a searing new drama.

Heat release date
Heat has four episodes in total and it will premiere on Channel 5 and its streaming service My5 over four consecutive nights.
The drama is directed by Neighbours filmmaker Kate Kendall, and it will air from Tuesday, 11 July to Friday, 14 July on the channel and digitally.
Heat plot
Set in Victoria, Australia, Heat takes place against the backdrop of the country's looming bushfire season as two families decide to go on a summer holiday together in a secluded home.

The long-time friends will have their friendship tested when the holiday home becomes a tinderbox, with secrets and lies starting to be revealed as the dangers begin to increase.
With the threat of bushfires grow, it begins to become increasingly clear that not everyone on the trip will make it out alive.
Heat cast
Dyer will appear on the show alongside Scottish-born actor Darren McMullen, as well as Jane Allsop, Pia Miranda, Olympia Valance, and Richie Morris. The drama will also star newcomers Matia Marks, Matteo Annetta and Hunter Hayden.
The EastEnders actor will take on the role of Steve Cameron, while McMullen plays Steve's best friend Brad Fisher. Mirana plays Steve's wife Sarah, and Marks and Annetta play their children Mia and Tom. Allsop takes on the role of Brad's wife Louise, while Hayden portrays their son Kip.
Valance and Morris round out the cast as Sergeant Angelos and Jet Calloway, respectively.

From suspected infidelity to shocking scenes of violence as fires rage, it seems that the drama will pack a lot into its four episodes.
Dyer's character seems to be in particular danger as he is seen desperately searching for his wife even as the summer vacation home begins to burn down.
Heat will air from Tuesday 11 July to Friday 14 July on Channel 5 and My5.
