A major airport terminal has been evacuated this morning amid claims that a 'suspicious package' was found. Travellers using Heathrow Airport's Terminal 2 were told to leave the area.

Emergency services have been seen arriving at the scene in images shared on social media. Other photos show crowds of people stood near to the entrance of the airport.

Sniffer dogs are also in the vicinity, it has been claimed. Multiple confused travellers took to X saying holidaymakers had been left in the dark as to why they were being evacuated, with no announcements made by the airport, The Mirror reports.
