Helen Flanagan has pondered whether she's given them a sign she's set to return to the cobbles with her latest social media post. The actress shot to fame in Coronation Street playing Weatherfield's Rosie Webster, the eldest daughter of former couple Kevin Webster and Sally Metcalfe.

She joined the cast in 2000 when she was just nine years old. Then in 2006, she was nominated for the award of Best Dramatic Performance from a Young Actor or Actress at the British Soap Awards and In 2007, she was nominated for Villain of the Year at the same awards, this time losing to Corrie co-star Jack P. Shepherd.

Bury-born Helen later left the soap in 2012 but she did return to the role in 2017, before going on maternity leave in June 2018, from which she did not return.

And last year, Helen, who shares Matilda, eight, Delilah, five and Charlie, three, with her ex-fiancé of 13 years Scott - said being a single parent leaves her with very little time for herself as she was quizzed on a possible return to Corrie.

Speaking to The Sun, Helen said at the time: "I would honestly love love love to go back [to Corrie] so much but I’m just so busy with the children, so I’ve got an eight-year-old, five-year-old and a two-year-old and because me and their daddy has separated and he lives five hours away with his work, it’s quite difficult with the balance."

She continued: "I’d love to go back to Coronation Street but the hours are really long, no one thinks this but sometimes you can leave the house at five o’clock in the morning and you won’t get home until 9 o’clock at night. So Matilda is very sensitive and she loves her daddy, and she misses him when he’s away.

"I just kind of think of it, for me, when you’re a mum you have to put your children first, and I would love to go back but I think right now it wouldn’t be fair on them."

But on Wednesday (July 3), Helen took to Instagram to share a number of photos of herself as Rosie over the years. In the first, the now-33-year-old could be seen giving a moody look towards the camera during Rosie's "goth" phase while other pictures showed her in Rosie's school uniform.

Alongside the post, Helen simply said: "Some iconic Rosie moments," alongside a crying laughing emoji. Former on-screen sister Brooke Vincent, who played Sophie Webster, was quick to respond with a string of crying laughing emojis while Richard Fleeshman, who played Rosie's former boyfriend Craig, commented: "#goths."

EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa also said: "Amazing." Gogglebox star Izzi Warner replied: "Bring back Rosie!!" while actor and singer Jules Knight added: "A great achievement darling."

Helen's fans and followers were also quick to respond to the post. @jenhenpen said: "Is this a sign you are coming back!!? You are my fav character!!" @sezy73_ commented: "I hope Rosie and Sophie return at some point. Corrie needs a bit of fun again."

@ash_p1999 begged: "Please come back." @fosterandy89 shared: "Love to see you come back you were amazing as Rosie Webster." @tashmay84 echoed: "Definitely need Rosie back in corrie what an icon." sophiedarby2003 added: "Bring back Rosie would be such an iconic moment."
