Helen Flanagan may be known for posing up a storm on social media in an array of outfits - from glamorous dresses to eye-catching lingerie sets - but she's also regularly being open and honest with her fans about life as a single mum.

Over the weekend, the actress took to social media to share a dose of her own motherhood reality as she ended up succumbing to her son's wishes in order to avoid a tantrum - after his older sister had already tested Helen earlier in the day.

Sharing a video of Delilah and Charlie sitting on the sofa, seemingly getting on, enjoying a cuddle as they watched the TV, Helen admitted: "Charlie wanted Christmas PJs on and I couldn't be bothered with one more tantrum... Delilah had an epic one today that lasted about three hours."

She added: "Busy day with the babies. Got a head cold, lost count of how many times the washing machine and dishwasher has been on." Helen, 33, then went on to pay tribute to her dad as she marked Father's Day.

Alongside a video of her playing with her kids as her dad was preoccupied in the background, the former Coronation Street star said: "Happy Father's Day to my amazing dad and my kids' grandad.

"Thank you for always coming round to do everything the kids break and pick up Charlie from nursery and always driving hours for me so they can see their dad halfway. Thanks for always doing my paper work and fines [crying laughing emoji]. Love you dad," [sic].

It comes after Helen opened up about the health concerns which made her feel "awful and depressed". She has appeared on the Full of Grace podcast, hosted by womb and menstrual cycle awareness educator, Grace Prosser.

Helen opened up about her struggles with her menstrual cycle and says the week before her period is "absolutely horrendous". She said: “I’ve always struggled with my menstrual cycle. The week before my bleed I couldn’t cope, feeling so awful and depressed. It would be such a relief when my period starts because I knew I would ‘have my head back’."

Helen said her premenstrual syndrome (PMS) impacted her family life, commenting: "It was almost like I was on top form for two weeks and then the other two weeks I would feel so low and down. I always used to say to my ex ‘don’t speak to me. I can’t cope’. It’s so hard when you’re hormonal with children. We once left something in the shop and I really shouted at [my daughter] Matilda and I felt so guilty."
