Skelton's co-stars and the audience screamed and cheered as the star, dressed in a black leotard, danced to the musical hit with lyrics including: "Farewell, mein lieber herr/It was a fine affair, but now it's over/And though I used to care, I need the open air/You're better off without me, mein herr."
In April, Skelton's husband Richie Myler left her when their third child was just four months old and soon afterwards confirmed he was in a relationship with someone else.
The TV presenter's routine included waving at the camera and enthusiastically singing along to the line: "You're better off without me, mein herr."
Strictly's other dancers cheered her on as judge Shirley Ballas told her: "Are you really a mummy of three?"
Motsi Mabuse added: "The name of the song is Mein Herr because it's all about him, but today it's Meine Dame because it's all about you."
One viewer tweeted: "I hope Helen’s ex-husband is having the worst time watching as she lives her absolute best life smashing this routine, go on girl."
Someone else wrote: "Helen getting the ultimate revenge on her slimey ex by s****ing it up on national telly with Gorka in a corset. Iconic behaviour. 10/10."
Another fan commented: "That was Helen's f**k you dance wasn't it."
Many viewers threw their support behind Skelton, with one person tweeting: "Helen started at possibly the lowest point in her life. That shows him!"
Someone else wrote: "So emotional at Helen executing the most perfect "f*** you" to the ex. Icon."
Another person added: "The 'you're better without me' moment in Helen's dance will go down in Strictly history. ICONIC."
During her training video, Skelton made reference to her marriage split as she said: "I did Strictly this year because sometimes you just need to jump on the opportunity and the chance to put a big smile on your face."
Her parents also appeared in the video, with her mum commenting: "It makes me very happy to see her dance because I can see as the weeks have gone on she's become more and more confident."
Skelton said ahead of the dance: "For me it's a chance to be powerful and sassy."
She added: "Strictly has given me so many things already, it's helped me remember who I am and remember what I'm about.
"I've got lots to be thankful for and I know what I can offer. What's great for me is this dance is all about that, it's about power."
Strictly Come Dancing's results show airs tomorrow at 5.40pm on BBC One.
