Here's when you'll get your SQA exam results and how to appeal them

It's that time of year again when high school students from across Scotland sit their National and Higher exams in the hopes of getting the marks they need for university, college and more.

From National 5 Physics to Advanced Higher History, thousands of pupils will be entering gym halls and classrooms up and down the country over the next few weeks.

If you want to see when you can expect your exam results and how to appeal them, here is everything you need to know.

The Scottish Government announced that as a part of wider education reform, the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) would be replaced by a new body in 2025.

This organisation will take on the SQA's awarding and assessment functions.

How do I find out when my SQA exam is taking place?

Those interested in finding the full list of SQA exams taking place in Scotland this year can do so by visiting the SQA website.

Here, you can download a file containing the date and time of every examination in Scotland in April and May of 2024.

When will I get my 2024 SQA exam results?

According to the SQA, exam results will be released nationwide on Tuesday, August 6.

Those wishing to get their results quickly can receive these by text and email.

Pupils only need to visit the SQA website, enter their Scottish Candidate Number (SCN) and activate their account before logging in.

Learners can appeal their final grades by asking for a review of the SQA-marked assessments.

The service is free and available for students to access directly in Scotland.
