A highly-rated mobile catering business in Coventry that also operates within Warwickshire has been put on the market. Sidewalk Express, located on Hinckley Road in Walsgrave is on sale for £45,000.

Listed with City Business Brokers, the family-run business was founded in 2006 when the owners identified a need in the area for quality mobile catering. The listing states the business has been a 'real labour of love' accruing many regular customers along with a great reputation for customer care and service, quality, and pricing.

The business offered a range of hot and cold sandwiches and baguettes, jacket potatoes, burgers, breakfasts, and omlettes which many described as 'top-notch' and 'always fresh'. It is on sale due to the owner's 'unfortunate health issue'.

The business is run by mother and daughter and prides itself on being able to provide good food at low prices. The owners have catered for parties and corporate buffets over the years. Sidewalk Express is being sold as a Turnkey, relocatable opportunity and will include the fully-fitted mobile catering trailer along with all the equipment in the sale price.

And it will be missed. Sidewalk Express has a 4.9-star rating on Google reviews, with many positive experiences from customers. Natalie Cleaver says the business is a 'hidden gem': "We have been going here for the last 4 weeks, and I have to say it’s the best take-out sandwiches we have tried. Friendly staff who go out of their way to make your sandwiches your way! Competitive prices and excellent food."

Alex Parkinson agreed and added: "Lovely family-run food truck, all the staff are really friendly and open to chat. Great food large portions cooked fresh and at a reasonable price. Their hot baguettes and rolls are highly recommended. All the lads from the AMTC love sidewalk express."

It has been at the present prime site at The Layby on Hinckley Road for the last 18 years and does enjoy repeat daily trade close to three industrial estates. The listing adds that the ideal owner should be someone who has managed or had a partnership in a business and it's a real opportunity to increase turnover and profits 'significantly' as the current owners have been running at a pace to suit their lifestyle.

There is scope to increase advertising and marketing campaigns and maximise the use of social media, as well as tender for additional events. It also has the potential to improve the website, ideally with a gallery and online ordering facility.

The business generated a turnover in the region of £78,000 with cash and card payment. The weekly sale for April 29 was £1,913 (weekdays only).
