High school in Gwent announces emergency closure for all pupils and staff
ST JOSEPH'S R.C High School in Newport has announced it will be closed today, January 21.
The emergency closure is due to them not having any hot water, gas, or heating.
All parents were sent an email from the headteacher Mrs Jarrett explaining the issue, which the school hopes to rectify by the start of the school day tomorrow.
The message to parents said: "Good morning. Unfortunately we have no heating, hot water or gas in school today, so I have taken the decision to close school to all pupils and staff.
"I anticipate the problem will be rectified during the day and the school will reopen tomorrow."
For updates on the school reopening, keep an eye on their website.
A spokesperson for the school said parents will receive confirmation via email.
