Hikers Winched to Safety After 'Misjudging' Trail Difficulty

Two hikers were winched to safety after misjudging the difficulty of a trail on Mount Bogong, Victoria Police said.

Footage released by police shows the rescue at about 9:30 am local time on Sunday, March 3.

The hikers had called emergency services on Saturday evening and spoken to rescue officers, who deemed them to have enough resources to remain where they were overnight.
