Hilary Duff and Her Lookalike Son Had a Rare Red Carpet Outing on a School Night
The 12-year-old is the spitting image of his mom.
Hilary Duff isn't a regular mom, she's a cool mom.
On Thursday, the actress brought her lookalike 12-year-old son, Luca Cruz, as her plus-one to the Broadway opening of Cult of Love, which would have been a special treat in and of itself, but Duff added a cherry on top by doing it on a school night of all nights. Duff and Luca—whom she shares with her ex-husband Mike Comrie—made their mother-son red carpet debut together outside the Hayes Theater in New York City, where they coordinated in black and gray outfits.
For the occasion, Duff wore a semi-sheer black top tucked into a pair of high-waisted gray trousers with a wide-leg silhouette and that were cinched with a skinny black belt. She topped off her look with a floor-skimming black leather trench coat that was slung over her shoulders, a pair of pointy-toe pumps, and a matching black top-handle bag. Jewelry-wise, she opted for a stack of gold bangles on one wrist, a smattering of diamond rings, and a gold chain-link necklace. Her blonde hair was styled in loose waves with a middle part, while the rest of her glam included a glossy lip and glowing skin.
Meanwhile, Luca, who could pass as his mom's doppelgänger, kept it casual in oversized black pants and a baggy charcoal gray jacket that he paired with a black-and-white checkered button-down underneath.
In addition to Luca, Duff is also a mom to three daughters—Banks Violet, 6, Mae James, 3, and seven-month-old Townes Meadow—all of whom she shares with her husband, Matthew Koma.
Before welcoming her fourth child, Duff opened up about the "mayhem" of raising three kids and why she wouldn't trade it for the world. "I'm so in love with all my kids," said while speaking with People, adding, "and I love this mayhem."
"I have help, but babies just want their mom. Even Luca is still like, 'Mom, Mom, Mom.' Mom cooks the thing the right way, and Mom packs the bag the right way. It's crazy," Duff explained at the time. "It's a learning curve to throw a newborn into the mix. A lot of people have been like, 'That third kid really gets you.' And they're right!"
