Historic village pub reopens after £300k refurbishment

A 188-year-old village inn has reopened after undergoing a £300,000 refurbishment.

The King William IV in Sedgeford, near Hunstanton, has been acquired by the award-winning Coaching Inn Group which takes on historic market town inns and restores them to their former glory.

It owns more than 30 venues across the country including two other north Norfolk spots -The Coastal Manor Hotel and Inn in Blakeney and The Pheasant in Holt.

The nine-bedroom hotel has received a £300,000 investment towards refurbishments such as a complete renovation of the bar, restaurant and common areas.

The reopening of the venue was marked by parish council chairperson, Sue Crump, cutting a ribbon at the front door.

Adam Charity, The Coaching Inn Group's COO, explained the business' ethos is based on "offering hospitality from the heart" and ensuring all its venues play a role in their local communities.
