A family from London had already enjoyed days out at Monkey World and the Tank Museum during the week and were enjoying their time on the beach yesterday.

Two-year-old Cassia said she had had 'a great time' at Monkey World and said she 'liked' the sandy beach.

Her father, Hadleigh, said: "We have come on a family holiday holiday, we go to a different place each year.

"The beach is really sandy here, it's a lovely beach and the ice cream is really nice too."

James from Cornwall had travelled up the coast and said the beach had a 'different vibe'  and that it was a 'fun, retro British beach' as well as being 'dead clean'.

It had been 27 years since his last visit and said it was 'completely different - but in a good way'.

According to the Met Office, Dorset can expect a dry Friday and Saturday with sunny spells and a maximum temperature of 21C.
