Holland Taylor 'Doesn't Like' Couples Working Together and 'Can't Imagine' Acting with Sarah Paulson
As their eight-year relationship carries on, there's only one production Holland Taylor can see herself costaring in with girlfriend Sarah Paulson
Holland Taylor isn’t jumping to share the screen with her girlfriend Sarah Paulson.
According to the Two and a Half Men alum, the couple prefers to keep their relationship off-screen as a way to preserve the plot.
“I can’t imagine,” Taylor, 81, told Variety of working alongside the 49-year-old American Horror Story actress. “I don’t like seeing couples doing things because I’m always aware of the coupledom.”
Some famous couples have managed to find a balance between on and offscreen, from John Krasinski and Emily Blunt in A Quiet Place to Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hillary Burton in The Walking Dead. Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone as well as Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally have appeared together onscreen quite often.
More recently, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill — who have collaborated on multiple songs together — appeared alongside one another in the Yellowstone prequel series 1883.

Taylor, however, doesn’t see her relationship translating in the same light. Still, there haven’t been opportunities for the couple of eight years to share the screen. Taylor mentioned having “one or two” pitches thrown their way, which have been denied.
There’s just one story Taylor sees herself starring in with Paulson, 49, and it’s onstage. She mentioned The Chalk Garden, a murder mystery stage production by Enid Bagnold. “It’s a rarified kind of play,” she said.

Paulson and Taylor first met at a dinner party in 2005, though sparks didn’t fly right away. They reconnected years later via social media and made their relationship public in 2015. A photo from that initial party was on Paulson’s fridge for years before they developed a romantic connection, she previously shared on The View.
"I am thrilled and I feel very lucky to be with a person who is smarter, wiser, wittier than I, and that just makes my life better in every possible way," Paulson said. "It makes me want to be a better person and a fully realized person."
