Hollyoaks achieves a historic win at the Inside Soap Awards 2019

Hollyoaks are celebrating a historic win, after being crowned Best Soap for the first time at the Inside Soap Awards.

In addition to the biggest prize, the Channel 4 show also picked up wins in Best Actor for Adam Woodward (Brody Hudson) and Best Actress for Stephanie Davis (Sinead Shelby) at the 2019 awards.

Elsewhere, EastEnders and Emmerdale secured four awards each.

EastEnders' Max Bowden (Ben Mitchell) won Best Bad Boy, with Kara-Leah Fernandes (Bailey Baker), Danny Dyer (Mick Carter), and Lorraine Stanley (Karen Taylor) also picking up individual prizes.

Emmerdale's Jane Cox (Lisa Dingle) took home Best Exit and Louisa Clein (Maya Stepney) won Best Bad Girl. The ITV soap was also awarded Best Partnership and Best Shock Twist.

Coronation Street won three awards, including Best Newcomer for Maureen Lipman (Evelyn Plummer).

Neighbours won Best Daytime Soap, with Ryan Moloney (Toadie Rebecchi) winning Best Daytime Star.
