Earlier in the episode, the McQueens were grieving while deciding how to break the devastating news of Hunter's passing to Goldie.

When Mercedes finally mustered up the courage to tell Goldie, she opted for a video call. A sleepy Goldie picked up the phone in Spain, beginning to relay about her night out with Myra.

"It's bad, Goldie. Really bad," Mercedes interrupted her to tell her Hunter had died.

"We tried to wake him, but we couldn't. He's gone," Mercedes continued, as a shocked Goldie couldn't get the words out and ultimately hung up.
