Hollyoaks airs sinister twist for Kitty and Declan

Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Friday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Monday.

Hollyoaks has aired a sinister twist for Kitty Draper after she crossed paths with her father Declan Hawthorne.

Kitty recently came to Chester to escape her father — a Christian fundamentalist preacher who was working alongside Carter Shepherd to recruit young people to a 'conversion therapy' clinic — and was left reeling after learning he was in the village.

Kitty later opened up about her relationship with Declan to Freddie Roscoe, revealing that she had been forced to go on the run due to her father's militant views.

Desperate to get away from her father, Kitty swiftly hatched a plan to flee the village which ultimately led her to come face to face with Declan during Friday's (May 3) first-look episode.

Over at the Dog, Abe and Marie were surprised to see Kitty rushing around to finish her work at the pub, leading her to reveal that she was hoping to leave work early and head off to a phlebotomy course down in London.

"It'll be nice to get away," she told them. "It's been a hard couple of days."

However, Kitty was unaware that Declan was still lurking around the village after Carter's arrest at the Pride festival, or that he was aware of her location.

After finishing her shift at work, Kitty loaded her suitcase into a car and prepared to head off to London — only to discover that the driver of the car she'd approached was none other than Declan.
