Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks is set to kill off a major character in a dramatic exit storyline.

The Sun reports that Norma Crow will be murdered as part of a revenge attack in shock scenes. Viewers will last see the gang boss in the summer, when she meets her demise at the hands of a surprise character.

The news comes after Barber, who has played Norma in the Channel 4 soap since 2022, announced she had filmed her final scenes in an Instagram post.

She posted a selfie alongside Rita Simons and Jamie Lomas, who play Marie Fielding and Warren Fox respectively, saying she had had a "special day of filming".

"A special day of filming with my two faves, winding up my scenes on @hollyoaksofficial," she wrote in the caption.

"What a joy working with @jamielomas21, such a generous and gifted actor and who now has a special place in my heart. And reunited with @rita_simonsofficial who is literally one of my favourite people on the planet."

Barber and Lomas, who is also set to leave the soap, have both been busy in the village recently, with their characters currently embroiled in an ongoing death plot.

Warren has recently been targeted after supplying a batch of dodgy pills that resulted in the tragic deaths of Lizzie Chen-Williams and Hunter McQueen.

Warren's troubles came to a head in recent episodes on Channel 4's streaming service, with the character being gunned down by an unidentifiable assailant.

After wearing a bulletproof vest, an unharmed Warren and Mercedes left for a safe house in the Lake District, while Norma remained in the village to try and uncover her son's attacker.

Barber follows a number of stars who have departed Hollyoaks. Steph Waring recently filmed her final scenes as Cindy Cunningham, who she had played for almost 30 years.

Zain Rizwaan actor Jonas Khan and Hunter McQueen star Theo Graham are also among the 20 cast members who have left the show, following Channel 4's decision to cut episodes to three 20-minute slots per week.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
