Hollyoaks cliffhanger teases whether Laurie Shelby is dead

Hollyoaks has hinted at the ultimate comeuppance for Laurie Shelby after he violently attacked Diane Hutchinson at the school prom.

Monday's first-look episode on E4 (June 24) picked up after Brody (Adam Woodward) and Sienna (Anna Passey) found a woman who confirmed to them she had been one of Laurie's past victims.

This knowledge inspired Sinead (Stephanie Davis) to take up her fight for justice once again, as she began making a new plot with Sienna through Monday's instalment.

Meanwhile, Sami Maalik (Rishi Nair) was all set to perform with Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) at the prom until he received a text from Brody asking to help with Sinead. Liberty reluctantly urged Sami to go help, setting up a future conflict between them.

As the prom was getting underway, Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) confronted Laurie in front of his students, going so far as to call him "rapist scum".

Although he ordered Diane off the grounds, she followed him to his office to accuse him of hurting woman because of his own self-loathing. A furious Laurie then physically attacked her, chasing her down the hallway and even ripping her top off.

Sienna and Sinead had simultaneously managed to slip away from Brody on a boxing outing, arriving at the school just in time to hear Diane's screams.

They found Laurie attempting to assault Diane and when he refused to stop, Sinead took desperate action by shoving him.

Laurie flew off the balcony and crashed down onto one of the tables below. Has Sinead just killed Laurie while trying to save Diane?

Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
