Yahoo News Hollyoaks’ Dave discovers Hannah’s scam after brutal attack
Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Thursday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Friday.
Dave Williams has discovered Hannah Ashworth's scheme in Hollyoaks.
Hannah recently returned to Chester with a plan to use her sex work as a means to scam men out of their money, with Dave becoming her latest target.
Dave has been struggling with grief over the tragic death of his daughter Lizzie, along with her bombshell revelation shortly before dying that she'd given up a baby as a teenager.
In Thursday's (June 13) first-look episode, Dave sought out Hannah once again as a way to drown out the pressure from his wife Cindy to find Lizzie's long-lost child.
Meanwhile, Hannah clued in Robbie Roscoe that she was trying to lure Dave in and con him out of his cash.
The pair cooked up a new scheme where Robbie would threaten to attack Hannah in front of Dave, in hopes of garnering his sympathy for her.
All the while, Cindy was alarmed at The Dog when she heard from Suzanne that Hannah had been off snogging a married man.
Back at the hotel, Dave completely fell for Hannah's scam as she explained how she desperately needed £5,000 to pay back Robbie or else.
Hannah even manipulated Dave by saying she'd never kissed a client before him. Eventually, Dave promised that he'd forego his honeymoon with Cindy to give Hannah the cash she needed.
However, it wasn't long before Hannah and Robbie's entire plot collapsed when they weren't careful enough about the secret, leading to Dave spotting them together.
A furious Dave punched Robbie and then started throttling him for abusing Hannah, forcing Robbie to admit that it had all been a ruse to get his money.
"Me and Hannah are mates, we've been scamming you since day one," Robbie confessed.
This shocking cliffhanger follows on the heels of news that Emma Rigby will be quitting Hollyoaks as Hannah once again, only a few weeks after her full-time return started on screens.
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
