Hollyoaks exit for Vera Chok as Honour leaves the village

Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Thursday's first-look episode (April 13).

Hollyoaks star Vera Chok has left the show after just over a year in the role of Honour Chen-Williams.

Honour's exit storyline aired in Thursday's first-look episode, which is available to watch now on All 4 ahead of the TV screening on E4 this evening.

Recent episodes have seen Honour receive a job offer in London, just as her relationship with her husband Dave was on the rocks.

Honour had become estranged from Dave following the revelation that he was still married to his first wife Flora when they tied the knot.

Stung by the news that her own marriage was a sham, Honour confided in Tony Hutchinson about her problems and impulsively kissed him in the heat of the moment.

In Thursday's episode, Honour and Dave broke the news of their break-up and the kiss drama to Mason, Sam, Lizzie and Shing Lin.

Mason blamed himself for Honour's plans to move on, fearing that she wouldn't be leaving if the situation with Eric Foster hadn't led to the loss of her job in Chester.

However, in one of her final exchanges with Dave, it was clear that the collapse of their marriage was the main cause.

Honour told her husband: "This is about us. We haven't been right for some time now. It's something you must have thought about."

Although Honour hoped that Mason and Shing Lin would join her in making the move to London, both opted to stay in Hollyoaks with Dave.

This briefly caused Honour to rethink her plans, but her family helped her to realise that they were strong enough to cope without her.

The Chen-Williams clan were introduced to Hollyoaks in late 2021 but the family unit has been affected by cast changes in recent months.

Emma Lau, who played Serena Chen-Williams, left the show at the start of 2023 after just a year in the role.

Meanwhile, Izzie Yip was introduced as Honour's niece Shing Lin at the end of 2022.

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
