Ste Hay's plans to escape the far-right group in Hollyoaks have taken another unexpected turn.

This week has seen Ste's (Kieron Richardson) effort to leave the group with the help of Prevent rumbled by Stuart Sumner (Chris Simmons) and Jonny Baxter (Ray Quinn), when Stuart beat his own son Sid (Billy Price) into snitching.

His cruelty even unsettled Jonny, setting the stage for a shocking turn of events in Wednesday's (November 13) first-look episode when Ste was confronted over his lies.

Although it initially looked like he was in serious trouble, Ste insisted he went to see Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) and Peri (Ruby O'Donnell) because family values are a key part of the group's goals.

Ste's argument seemed to win Stuart round, so the leader shared that he would be bringing Jonny to confront a rival right-wing faction, in order to intimidate them into joining forces.

Stuart ominously grabbed a knife from the kitchen drawer before leaving with Jonny. This understandably worried Ste, who shared his fears over the backyard wall with Azim (Nav Sidhu) that Stuart would still hurt him.

Later, the soap flashed to the hospital where a stabbing victim was rushed into the emergency room following reports of a huge gang fight in the village.

Ste was similarly alarmed when Jonny stumbled into the house with his own stab wound soon after, revealing Stuart had been vicious during the showdown with the other faction.

Insisting that Stuart doesn't care about anyone but himself, Jonny stunned Ste by revealing that he wanted help in getting out of the group.

"He doesn't care about us, mate," Jonny said of Stuart. "He only cares about his own power, and it's only going to get worse… I want out!"

But can he be trusted? We know that a murderous kidnapping plot is still to come, leading up to a clifftop showdown featuring cast exits during Friday night's (November 15) one-hour special.
