Hollyoaks' Ross Adams supported by co-stars after announcing exit

Hollyoaks star Ross Adams has been inundated with support after announcing his departure from the soap after nine years.

The actor, who plays Scott Drinkwell, took to Instagram on Sunday to share the news, writing: "Deciding not to sign another contract was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make."

The post received thousands of likes and comments from fans and co stars, with Stephanie Waring, who plays Cindy in the soap, writing: "I am super proud of you my friend, you are one of the most talented people I know and I cannot wait to see what you do next! I’m your biggest fan and will always hear cheering you on! I love you so much and so proud of you for following your heart xxxxx."

Hollyoaks director George Siougas added: "Darling Ross, may all your dreams come true. I love you x"

Felix actor Richard Blackwood wrote: "It was a pleasure working with you my friend, fellow Taurean! You’re an amazing actor and we always got jokes on set with our deep convos! Keep ascending my bro."

Jacob Roberts, who left Hollyoaks himself in 2023 after playing Scott's brother Damon, commented: "Ross you truly are a legend on and off screen. It was a pleasure to be your ‘tele brother’ and share some wonderful scenes together. I can’t wait to see what your in next."

Gregory Finnegan, who plays James, wrote: "Absolute legend. Brilliant actor, wonderful professional & all round class act," while Jessica Fox (Nancy) commented: "One of the very best eggs and truly adored by all of us."

Chelsee Healey, who plays Goldie McQueen, added: "My Boy! proud of you and you are going to smash whatever comes your way."

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
