Hollywood sensation Anne Hathaway took her Arsenal fan club to a new level with an explosive celebration after Leandro Trossard's important goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The past two weeks did not paint a bright picture for Hathaway and fellow Gunners fans as their campaign was on the brink of falling apart. A home defeat of 2-0 to Aston Villa left them trailing Manchester City in the Premier League title chase, while a Champions League loss to Bayern Munich capped off a grim week.

Fortunately for the Gunners, they dug deep under Mikel Arteta's leadership, claiming a victorious 2-0 outcome over Wolves at Molineux. When Trossard found the back of the net, Hathaway erupted in profound relief and joy.

The passionate display occurred during an Interview Magazine chat alongside her co-actor Nicholas Galitzine whilst promoting their latest film 'The Idea of You'. As the conversation unfurled, Galitzine kept tabs on the game's progression.

Upon hearing the news of Trossard scoring, he relayed the information to Hathaway who reacted with sheer exhilaration by roaring in victory and exclaiming "I love you". The explanation for this unexpected outburst was subsequently clarified to their confused interviewer as being due to their fondness for the Gunners, reports the Daily Star.

"Sorry, we're both fans of the same team and there's a match going on right now," she laughed. "During our last interview, we scored a goal. We've had a rough week."

Hathaway's support for the Gunners came to light again earlier this month when she mentioned "trying to get Mikel Arteta's attention" during another chat with Galitzine.

Arsenal have reclaimed their spot at the summit of the Premier League table, yet they risk slipping to second if City triumph over Brighton at the Amex Stadium. Next up for the Gunners is a home fixture against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.
