Home and Away's Alf to receive a worrying threat over John Palmer
Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.
Home and Away's Alf Stewart will receive a worrying threat in new UK scenes next week, as he makes a decision over John Palmer's future at the Surf Club.
With John having recently resigned from his job at the club over a row with the son of a major sponsor, Alf's daughter Roo Stewart has decided to fill in for the time being.
But in scenes airing on Channel 5 on Monday, February 19, Tuesday, February 20 and Wednesday, February 21, Roo struggles to fill John's shoes after being thrown in at the deep end with the club.

Mali Hudson offers to help out, but Alf soon gives him his marching orders. However, Alf decides to ask his daughter outright whether she really feels up to this job. With John digging his heels in over returning to the club, she may be having to fill in for a while.
Roo later suggests to Alf that they should reacquaint John with his decade-long work on 'The Summer Bay Surf Club Bible'. She hopes that by reminding him just how much he has invested into the Club, they may be able to tempt him to come back.
Roo soon puts her plan into action, approaching John with the Club Bible that he authored over his many years of service. As John recalls the achievements of all his students, whose names are recorded in the binder, Roo suggests that most of them would never have passed their Bronze Medallion without him.

However, it seems that counting on John's nostalgia to convince him to come back might have been a mistake. John soon comes up with a new business plan - his own Surf Safety school, which will help aspiring lifeguards to qualify.
When Alf finds John pinning up a flyer for his own Surf Safety School, he doesn't mince his words: it will be a waste of time to run a course identical to the one they already offer at the Surf Club.
He asks why John doesn't just admit that he loves the club and that he wants his job back. Alf promises that if John does so, he will back him up and try to get him his teaching privileges back.

Touched, John confirms that he would like his position back after all.
True to his word, Alf meets with Henderson to plead John's case, but Henderson is unforgiving. When the pair fail to reach an agreement, Alf makes a call - the committee's decision has been overruled and he is reinstating Palmer, effective immediately.
Henderson wastes no time in responding and threatens further consequences if John comes back to the club. But what does he have in mind?
