Yahoo News Home and Away's Stephanie Panozzo explains setback from Eden audition
Home and Away star Stephanie Panozzo has revealed that she nearly missed out on her audition for the role of Eden Fowler.
The actress made her Summer Bay debut as Lyrik band member Eden last year, following several unsuccessful auditions for the soap over the years.
When the producers began their search for the band, Stephanie tried out for both Kirby (which eventually went to Angelina Thomson) and Eden – though she says COVID almost cost her the role.

"I had a little niggle in my throat a couple of days before [the audition] and did a [COVID] test that came back negative," she explained in an interview with Stuff. "But then the day before I had to fly out, it came back positive and I was sure I had lost the opportunity. I was absolutely devastated."
Thankfully, Stephanie was given the opportunity to audition over Zoom, though she still remained sceptical of landing the role.
"The chemistry read with Adam Rowland, who plays Remi, went well but I still thought: 'I haven't got it'. But I landed it and I was shocked but very grateful," she said.

Stephanie continued by saying that she's glad to finally have landed this part, as it feels like the right fit compared to her previous auditions.
"I feel like of all the characters that I have auditioned for on Home and Away, Eden is probably the closest to who I am and what I love doing in terms of the music stuff. It's such a blessing."
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.
