Gardeners are singing the praises of a 'brilliant' Home Bargains product that effectively removes green algae from patios and is getting their gardens summer-ready. After enduring a dreary winter, many gardens may be looking worse for wear.

The combination of poor sunlight and inadequate drainage creates an ideal environment for algae and mould to grow on our decking and patios, leaving them with an unsightly green hue.

Removing this stubborn growth usually involves hours of scrubbing or hiring a professional to power wash the stains away, which can be expensive.

On the popular Hinch Army Cleaning Tips Facebook page, one gardener was desperate to find a solution for her algae-infested backyard, reports the Mirror.

"I've used Wet and Forget and Wickes' own version successfully on my white render but it's not worked on my greened decking and nor has pressure washing," she posted.
