'Hoping for the Best': Evacuations in Central Oregon as Wildfire Grows

Containment efforts continued against a fast-moving wildfire in Deschutes County, central Oregon, on Wednesday, June 26, as evacuation orders were in place for some areas.

Footage by Laura Reischauer shows smoke from the Darlene 3 Fire near her home La Pine on Tuesday afternoon. “Hoping for the best for La Pine,” Reischauer says in the footage. In her post on Facebook later on, she said the situation had “become scary”.

By Wednesday morning, the fire had burned 2,415 acres and was zero percent contained, local media reported. Credit: Laura Reischauer via Storyful

We've got a fire burning here.

Hopefully, it's not in the pine, but it's very, very close.

I'm across the street at my neighbors, but you can see the clouds.

This is a perfectly blue sky and now it has gone all the way over our home, which is right there and down there you can see behind us is still blue.

So, hoping for the best for Lepine, we've got a fire burning here.
