Horatiu Moldovan to Celtic transfer option remerges as raging Atletico misfit demands Madrid exit after SIX MONTHS

Furious goalkeeper Horatiu Moldovan has admitted he wants to leave Atletico Madrid just months after arriving at the club - which could revive interest from Celtic.

The goalkeeping position at Parkhead is top of the transfer shopping list for Brendan Rodgers this summer with No. 1 Joe Hart retiring at the end of the campaign - with a host of goalkeepers being touted for the No. 1 spot at the Scottish Premiership champions. Newcastle United back-up Martin Dubravka is on the agenda while reports suggest the Hoops are keeping tabs on Sparta Prague's Peter Vindahl Jensen.

But the club could revive their interest in Romania international Moldovan. The 26-year-old would leave Rapid Bucharest for a switch to the La Liga heavyweights in January - with Celtic, FC Basel, Ludogorets, Real Betis and Sevilla all been touted with an interest at that time.

However, Moldovan has failed to make a single appearance for the club - with Jan Oblak keeping the gloves and remaining as Diego Simeone's undisputed first-choice. Moldovan would vent his frustration over his switch to Spain ahead of Euro 2024 on Romanian podcast Tare de tot cu Viorel Grigoroiu.

The irked shot-stopper said: “I want to leave Atletico Madrid in the summer or winter. I don’t know if I’ll leave now, because it depends on what I do at the Euros with Romania. It depends on the opportunities that arise. But I definitely want to leave to play."

Pressed on what “If a good team from a big league presents itself to me, then I want to go We will see what offers appear. You can’t reject (the chance to sign for) Atletico. But I want to play.”
