Horror car blaze on busy Scots motorway as fire crews race to scene

A car burst into flames on a busy motorway during rush hour this evening.

Fire crews scrambled to the M90, near Glenfarg in Perth and Kinross, after the alarm was raised at around 5.30pm on Thursday. Police were also called and the southbound carriageway was quickly closed off by officers.

Shocking video footage from the scene showed the vehicle engulfed in flames as a plume of black smoke billowed up into the sky.

Drivers were earlier warned to approach the area with care before the road reopened to the public.
