Hospital staff raise £700 Watford charity

Staff at Spire Bushey Hospital raised more than £700 as part of their annual summer charity drive.

Funds were garnered through a host of activities such as a bake sale, games and a raffle, which have been donated to Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers.

The charity offers confidential support to families in Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere.

During this week-long fundraising venture, colleagues from various sectors of the business did a range of activities including running, walking and cycling.

Hospital director of Spire Bushey, Darren Rogers, said: "We originally set a fundraising target of £350 so we are delighted that the total amount raised is more than double that.

"Our hospital community are proud to support local charity Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers and the important work they do in the area.

"Thank you to the local businesses who generously donated items for the raffle prizes."

Spire Healthcare, which operates 39 hospitals across England, Wales and Scotland, led these activities as part of its 2024 summer charity drive.

Spire Healthcare said it aims to make a positive contribution to society by extending its services beyond providing health care.

Donations are still being accepted online for Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers.
