'It Was Hot, Who Cares?': Ariana Grande Speaks Out On Jennette McCurdy's Sexy Selfie Scandal

Ariana Grande has jumped to the defence of her Sam & Cat co-star Jennette McCurdy after racy photos of the actress leaked online last month, claiming the scandal isn't such a big deal and describing the selfies as “hot” and “tasteful.”

Jennette, 21, was left red-faced when a series of naughty photos of herself posing seductively in her underwear surfaced online, but it seems she received nothing but support on set of Sam & Cat from her bestie Ariana, who has given the photos the thumbs up.

Speaking to 99.7's Fernando and Greg, Ariana said: “It was hot. Who cares?

“When I saw those pictures come out, It was on Perez [perezhilton.com] or something. I was like – it was so funny because I should have been shocked – but I was like ‘Work! OK Work.'”

While many were surprised to see the Nickelodeon star in the saucy snaps, Ariana says the reaction was unnecessary.

“She had her panties and her bra on. It is not like she was nude. It was tasteful,” the 'Problem' singer says. “And booty too. She looked good. If you look like that you’ve got to make light of it.”

Following the selfie scandal, speculation was rife that Sam & Cat wouldn't be returning for a second season while rumours also mounted that Ariana and Jennette's friendship was on the rocks.

However, Ariana says the future of the popular show is yet to be decided. “We don’t know anything about it, but I am grateful for the fans that have supported it form the beginning. It is not in my hands at this point,” Ariana revealed.
