Houghton and Sunderland South general election results 2024 in full

Voters in the Houghton and Sunderland South constituency have been going to the polls in the general election 2024 to choose their new MP. Houghton and Sunderland South has been held by Bridget Phillipson for Labour since it was created in 2010, and she has won another term in the seat.

In that general election and in 2015, the Houghton and Sunderland constituency was the first in the UK to be declared. Boundary changes have added the St Anne’s ward to the Houghton and Sunderland South seat, but it is not one to have seen significant alterations.

Polls closed in the general election 2024 at 10pm on Thursday, July 4, with counts taking place overnight. Results from across the UK are expected in the early hours of Friday morning, with Houghton and Sunderland South declaring first at just after 11.10pm.
