If you're one of the thousands of Bruce Springsteen fans heading to the Stadium of Light on Wednesday, be sure to dress for the inclement weather.

Downpours are forecast across the North East all day on Wednesday as The Boss and his E Street band stop off in Sunderland as part of an epic world tour. The Met Office has issued a 30-hour weather warning for heavy rain in the region from 12.15am on the day of the gig until 6am on Thursday, with disruption to public transport expected including delays or cancellations to train and bus services, as well as difficult driving conditions and some road closures due to flooding.

Sunderland is forecast to be up to 90% covered by heavy rain during the show and throughout the rest of the day, so be sure to wear your waterproofs if you're all set to go Dancing In The Dark. It's important to note that large umbrellas are banned at the Stadium of Light, although small telescopic umbrellas are permitted. The venue recommends opting for a hooded jacket or rain poncho to avoid losing or damaging your umbrella in the crowd, or obstructing the view of those standing behind you.

Looking ahead to the rest of the week, the rain is expected to gradually ease away with further outbreaks on Thursday followed by a drier day on Friday with cloudy skies and the odd light shower. Fortunately, Saturday is forecast to be brighter with warm sunny spells to kick off the bank holiday weekend.
