Houses on Fire After Light Aircraft Crashes in Riverside

A light aircraft crashed into two homes in Riverside, California, on February 27, sparking a large fire and sending thick smoke into the air.

Local news outlet KTLA reported evacuations were taking place after the plane hit a residential area near the Riverside Municipal Airport. The plane crashed shortly after departing the airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane, a twin-engined Cessna 310, was en route from Riverside to San Jose.
