Housing association Hafod to build 300 social homes across South Wales

Hafod Housing has unveiled plans to build 300 new affordable homes supported by a £25m new lending facility from Principality Building Society.

The Cardiff headquartered not-for-profit housing association has been backed by the commercial arm of the mutual in it housing stock expansion. The new homes across South Wales, a mixture of homes and apartments, will be built over the next five years. Hafod will also be utilising Welsh Government social housing grant support the financing of its new homes.

Hafod’s recent projects include the redevelopment of Haydock House in Barry, Cardiff’s Lansdowne Hospital site, and Parc Llanilid in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Chris Judson, Hafod’s interim director of finance, investments and development said: “We are very grateful to have secured this essential funding from Principality Building Society.
