Rock legends Eagles have announced a residency in Manchester as part of their Long Goodbye tour, giving UK fans the chance to see the group behind Hotel California, Witchy Woman, and Take It Easy one final time.

The group, whose current lineup consists of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill, and Deacon Frey, will play three dates at the new Co-op Live arena in Manchester in May and June this year, supported by fellow rock icons Steely Dan.

Talking about their final UK dates, the Eagles said: "Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle."

Is this the last time Eagles will play in the UK?

Although only three UK dates have been announced by the Eagles for 2024, the band teased that more dates may come available as the tour progresses.

"The official farewell tour is currently underway," the press release explains. "We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round. So, scheduling information will be released as dates are set. The difficulties of booking venues for multiple nights may require us to return to certain cities, depending on demand."

In 1971, the Eagles formed, pioneered, and personified a uniquely American musical style blending country, folk, R&B, rock, and pop sensibilities, and would go onto become one of the most creatively and commercially successful bands of all time. In today’s fractured, rock landscape, the Eagles retain an appeal that transcends both generation and genre, cementing the band’s role as enduring musical icons.

The Eagles have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, scored six #1 albums, and topped the singles charts five times. They earned six Grammy Awards, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, in their very first year of eligibility, and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016.

The band’s Greatest Hits 1971-1977 is the best-selling album in history, with the RIAA certifying the collection at 38-times Platinum. Hotel California is the third best-selling U.S. album in history, certified 26-times Platinum. After its release in 1976, it topped the charts and earned two GRAMMY Awards for New Kid In Town and Hotel California.

Also founded in 1971, Steely Dan are contemporaries of the Eagles who enjoyed huge success in the 1970s with songs such as Do It Again, Rikki Don't Lose That Number, and Peg. They have sold over 40m records worldwide, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
