Huge car boot sale with classic cars and vintage fashion coming to Greater Manchester for the first time

One of the biggest car boot sales will be making its way up North this summer. The Classic Car Boot Sale will hold its first event in the region at MediaCity in Salford this July.

It will be a huge celebration of classic vehicles, vintage and designer second-hand fashion and homewares. The event will be held on July 20-21, and will also entail street food, bars serving from classic buses, and vans and trucks all set to vinyl spinning DJs

Applications are now open for vintage and designer second-hand traders, street food trader, classic vehicle owners to showcase and sell.

HemingwayDesign launched The Classic Car Boot Sale in 2013 and since then it's gone on to attract around 10,000 visitors a day from across the UK. The twice-yearly event is one of London’s largest pre-loved fashion events, and The UK’s first charity department store, Charity Super.Mkt will also make a return to Salford Quays for the event.

The car boot sale brings together the 'finest' vintage and sustainable fashion, accessories and homewares traders from across the UK and gathers them all in one location. And, as well as cars, daily ride ups from scooter and motorcycle clubs, classic bicycles, there's food, drink and entertainment from classic vans DJs.

Classic car and two wheels bike owners of pre-1990s vehicles can apply to display their motor whilst paired with best vintage sellers that the North has to offer. There will also be a ‘suitcase sale’ section, where those with smaller collections can sell out of vintage suitcase across the weekend.

Speaking ahead of the event, event curator Wayne Hemingway MBE, says: “MediaCity is a perfect location for the first Classic Car Boot Sale North. It has brilliant spaces, an iconic backdrop, and is well connected by public transport and road. It’s a location at the heart of the UK that people, traders and classic vehicle owners can get to from towns and cities across the British Isles.

“The Classic Car Boot Sale is a classic car-lovers’ delight, a vintage shoppers’ dream and a true mecca for the special second-hand items. And you don’t need a classic car to trade out of – think of us like a dating agency. If you don't have a classic vehicle to trade from, we’ll pair you up with one of our lovely classic car owners.

The Classic Car Boot Sale is a joyous mix of good designer, preloved second-hand and sustainable fashion, homewares, vinyl and curios selling alongside timeless classic cars and bikes all set to an amazing soundtrack. It's such an exciting and energising event so get your applications in.”

The Classic Car Boot Sale will take place on 20-21 July in MediaCity, Salford. Applications to get involved are now open via the website.
