Zara will also open in an adjacent two-storey unit on the Bullring's upper level. It will create over 51,000 square foot of shopping space that will significantly elevate Zara's presence in Birmingham.

The two new stores will showcase the brand's full range of womenswear, menswear and childrenswear - and will feature an 'automated collection point', self-service and dedicated refund tills. It follows the opening on Inditex brands Bershka and Pull&Bear which opened last year.

While, Swiss watch brand Swatch will reopen at the Bullring, located in Link Street and will see more than 500 watches on display, from classic to contemporary styles. Independent retail brand Pop Street is also opening a 3,900 square foot on the lower level of the Bullring.

And the independent Mexican grab and go restaurant Zambrero which will open it's second city restaurant on the middle floor.

Toby Tait, director of asset management at Hammerson, said: "The strategic repositioning of Bullring & Grand Central has seen us introduce key brands, new concepts and events to the destination. As a result, we have driven footfall and sales for our occupiers year-on-year and continue to attract best-in-class brands partners. Zara’s reinvestment alongside exciting new concept stores from Swatch and Clarks demonstrates the appeal of Bullring and endorses the success of our strategic focus."

It comes as Ted Baker this week announced their Bullring store would be closing after the company appointed administrators last month. While Victoria's Secret has now closed their two-floor store on the upper level.
